JMC HR Consulting is proud to partner with Eastgate Academy in the search for a Director of Teaching and Learning.Located in Moncton, NB, Eastgate Academy is an independent, International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme school offering a progressive academic experience rooted in the British Columbia curriculum. With a strong focus on well-being, inquiry-based learning, and community, Eastgate currently serves students from kindergarten to grade 9 and will expand to grade 10 in 20252026.The Opportunity:Eastgate Academy is seeking a collaborative, student-centred Director of Teaching and Learning to serve as its senior academic leader. This is a hands-on role ideal for an experienced educator with a passion for inquiry-based instruction, a strong understanding of IB principles, and the ability to lead in a dynamic, growing school environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic and instructional leadership aligned with IB and BC curriculum frameworksInspire and support faculty through mentorship, feedback, and professional growthOversee academic planning, curriculum development, and classroom implementationFoster a positive, inclusive school culture rooted in the IB Learner ProfileContribute to staff hiring, timetabling, and co-curricular programmingMaintain a part-time teaching load and model instructional best practicesWhat You Bring:Bachelors in Education (required); Masters in education/leadership (preferred)Eligible for a Canadian teaching certificateFormal IB training or significant IB programme experienceMinimum 10 years of teaching, including leadership rolesExperience in independent or small school settings an assetStrong communication, organizational, and people leadership skillsBilingualism in English/French is considered an assetWhy Eastgate:Based in one of Atlantic Canadas most vibrant cities, Eastgate offers a supportive, community-driven environment with access to nature, affordable living, and a high quality of life.We thank all interested applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
