Overview: CAM Industrial Solutions, a leader in industrial services and one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in Canada and the United States, is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused HSE Advisor for a 68 week industrial project at our client site, DOW. We aim for excellence in everything we do, and were looking for individuals who share that same drive, take pride in their work, and thrive in a collaborative, high-performance environment.This is an excellent opportunity for seasoned HSE professionals as well as students currently enrolled in an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or Diploma program seeking valuable field experience.Visit us at HSE Advisor Maintenance is responsible for providing field and administrative Health, Safety, and Environmental support to site maintenance, small projects, and CAMs leadership. This role involves approximately 70% field work and 30% administrative support, ensuring HSE compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in safety practices. The advisor will work closely with CAMs supervision teams to maintain and promote a culture of safety and excellence.This temporary assignment starts August 11, 2025, and is expected to last approximately 6 to 8 weeks.Key Responsibilities:Champion and enforce CAM CORE safety culture among employees.Conduct start-of-shift meetings to reinforce HSE priorities.Identify and report non-compliant employees or unsafe behaviors to site supervision.Ensure immediate reporting and documentation of incidents, hazards, or non-compliance issues.Review and validate Pre-Task Analysis (PTA) and Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) for accuracy and understanding.Mentor employees struggling with hazard assessments to ensure competency.Collect and review Safety Observation Reports (SORs), enter data into the SOR database, and provide feedback.Conduct site walkthroughs with new employees, utilizing Walkthrough Guides.Oversee and support incident and injury response, including initial care, witness interviews, and scene control.Assist with injury management and modified work programs as needed.Recognize and reinforce positive safety behaviors to encourage compliance and engagement.Perform daily CAM audits and submit reports to payroll.Conduct routine area audits to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.Engage with employees to promote a positive, safety-first work environment.Maintain expertise in CAM Safety Program, Dow Safety Program, and Alberta OHS regulations, recommending improvements when needed.Generate and submit incident notification forms to HSE and site managers.Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis, including:Witness statementsInvestigator notesIncident reports and summariesHigh-Value Learnings (PowerPoint presentations)Supporting documents (permits, PTAs, etc.)Present Bi-Weekly HSE Communication Meetings as required.Ensure completion and submission of HSE training sign-in sheets.Contribute to Turnaround Readiness Reviews (TRR) for project preparedness.Maintain an HSE action register, tracking concerns and corrective actions.Keep a detailed logbook of significant events, conversations, and resolutions.Participate in HSE team meetings, client EH&S meetings, and turnaround discussions.Ensure C040 WCB Employers Reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.Qualifications:Completion or enrollment in an Occupational Health & Safety Certificate/Diploma program.2+ years of relevant HSE experience preferred (industrial or maintenance setting).Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS regulations and industry best practices.Excellent communication, mentorship, and leadership abilities.Ability to work both independently and within a high-performance team.Strong analytical skills with incident investigation and root cause analysis experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Enablon, and SAP (an asset).Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent certification.Equal Employment OpportunityCAM Industrial Solutions is an equal opportunity employer, and we thrive on our differences for the benefit of our employees, our customers, and our community.
