Job Opportunity: Junior Cook at St. Andrews College We invite applications for a full-time Junior Cook position at St. Andrews College. The role involves working in Cole Dining Hall, which accommodates up to 320 people and serves daily meals, special events, and receptions. Primary Responsibilities: Assist the First Cook with meal preparation. Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and prepping salads, vegetarian meals, and other duties. Measure ingredients and seasonings accurately. Prepare meals according to the menu, ensuring quality and quantity standards. Perform routine kitchen tasks, including assisting with serving food and cleaning up. Label and organize ingredients on shelves for easy access. Ensure proper storage and sanitation of all food and supplies. Comply with Health and Safety regulations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Handle food and cleaning chemicals safely, following W.H.M.I.S guidelines. Candidate Credentials: Previous kitchen experience, with at least 2 years of cooking experience preferred. Reliability and flexibility. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Physical ability to walk and stand for extended periods. Current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check. Scheduled shifts will include evenings and weekends.
