Our Utilities team consists of 17 highly skilled professionals who provide services in water treatment, water distribution, and wastewater collection. Our team operates and maintains a complex membrane filtration water treatment plant, potable water reservoir and pumping facilities, wastewater lift stations and over 250 kilometers of underground infrastructure. What skillset is the Utilities Team looking for? Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities * High School Diploma or equivalent * Mechanical aptitude and experience operating and maintaining equipment and tools * Self-motivated with ability to work independently or as part of a team * Strong applied math skills * Basic computer skills * A valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license * Clean criminal record Preferred Qualifications * Water/Wastewater technical post secondary training or equivalent * AEP Level 1 Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection certification * Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings * Effectively use GIS systems * Basic plumbing and pipefitting skills * Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of pumps * A valid Alberta Class 3 drivers license and air brake endorsement * Experience operating heavy equipment * Confined Space Entry and Rescue training * Fall Protection training * H2S Awareness training * Ground Disturbance training As a Utilities Maintenance Operator, you will be responsible for: * Performing operation and maintenance activities in the water distribution system including but not limited to: o Monitoring and operation of Cochranes SCADA system o Distribution system operation o Fire hydrant maintenance o Distribution system flushing o Valve maintenance o Leak detection o Assisting with underground infrastructure repairs o Water quality monitoring and sampling o Pressure Reducing Valve Operation and Maintenance * Performing operation and maintenance activities in the wastewater collection system including but not limited to: o Lift Station Maintenance o Sewer flushing or jetting with use of combination vacuum flush truck o CCTV inspection o Power auguring o Wastewater sample collection o H2S monitoring **Still interested?
