**Job Number:** J0625-0772 **Job Type:** Casual **Employee Group:** Union Local CUPE 30 **Job Category:** Culture & Recreation Services **Open Positions:** 3 **Date Posted:** June 17, 2025 **Closing Date:** June 30, 2025 **Salary:** $20.87 - $22.95/Hour **Share** **Facebook** **Twitter** **Email** **LinkedIn** **Position Summary** -------------------- Reporting to the Coordinator, Fort Heritage Precinct Programs, the Fort Heritage Precinct Program Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and heritage interpretation to support smooth operations within the Fort Heritage Precinct site. **Responsibilities** -------------------- include, but are not limited to: * Deliver, evaluate, maintain and promote Fort Heritage Precinct curricular and public programs. * Assist in the development of new curricular programs, public programs, and special event activities. * Act as a tour guide, conducting interpretive tours of the entire Precinct site. * Provide third person, costumed, heritage interpretation for programs and special events. * Provide excellent customer service and visitor information throughout the Precinct site * Perform admission and gift shop sales. * Assist in firing the Precincts British Bronze Light 3 Pound Cannon. **Qualifications** ------------------ The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma and a First Aid Certification (or willingness to acquire). A post-secondary education in a related discipline such as History, Canadian History, Heritage Interpretation, Museum Programming, or Education and museum experience is considered an asset. Experience working with children, seniors, and individuals with special needs along with knowledge of local, provincial, and Western Canadian history is preferred. A strong understanding of the Alberta Museums Associations Standard Practices, heritage interpretation, and heritage programming is an asset. The incumbent will have the ability to successfully deliver curricular and public programs and thrive in a dynamic, diverse, and fast paced work environment. This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. Hours of Work: Days, evenings and weekends. The number of hours of work per week may vary and cannot be forecasted.
