Position OverviewOur client is a mid-sized, employee-owned engineering consultancy with a strong reputation in delivering infrastructure projects across Western Canada. They are currently looking to add a Senior Civil Engineer to their municipal team to lead a range of complex water and wastewater system design projects. This position can be based out of their Burnaby or Calgary office, offering a flexible hybrid work structure.This is a leadership role ideal for someone with a passion for infrastructure design, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to support the development of junior engineers while also engaging directly with clients and guiding project delivery. The successful candidate will help shape and execute municipal and regional infrastructure projects from feasibility to construction.Further Responsibilities Include the FollowingTake the lead on planning and delivering municipal water, sewer, and drainage projects, including pump station design.Serve as Engineer-of-Record or Technical Lead on key assignments.Manage entire project lifecycles, from preliminary studies to final construction support and administration.Supervise and mentor technical staff across disciplines and career levels.Oversee the preparation of reports, drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents.Participate in construction oversight, including QA/QC, safety considerations, and compliance with technical and environmental requirements.Assist with client relationship development and proposal preparation.Work on multidisciplinary assignments with clients that may include municipalities, utilities, Indigenous communities, and private sector organizations.Ideal Candidate RequirementsRegistered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing within a Canadian province.15+ years of relevant experience in municipal civil engineering and infrastructure design.Solid background in pump stations and related infrastructure projects.Experience in consulting or client-facing environments with a strong understanding of project delivery models.Demonstrated ability to manage large projects, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Experience mentoring staff and leading collaborative teams.Valid drivers license and comfort conducting field reviews and project site visits, including in remote or varied terrain.Why This FirmFlexible hybrid work schedule.Competitive compensation structure, including performance-based bonuses.Extended health, dental, and vision coverage plus wellness and healthcare spending accounts.GRSP and TFSA matching programs.Support for professional development including coaching, training, and conference participation.Opportunity to work toward shareholding eligibility.Employee-focused workplace culture with team-building activities and access to diverse project work.
