Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Assistant Project Manager with experience in low and mid rise residential construction projects to join our growing team in Ontario. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day site operations, coordinating trades and deliveries, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and assisting in the overall execution of construction activities on site.Key Responsibilities:Support the Site Superintendent and Project Manager in the coordination of construction activities from site preparation through to occupancy.Ensure all construction work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations (MOL, WSIB, etc.).Schedule and coordinate sub-trades, material deliveries, inspections, and site activities.Monitor and track progress on-site to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Maintain detailed daily reports, site logs, and documentation (including RFIs, change orders, and deficiency lists).Assist in resolving on-site construction issues, working closely with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.Liaise with municipal inspectors, utility companies, and other authorities having jurisdiction.Monitor and enforce site safety standards and ensure all workers follow proper PPE and safety procedures.Coordinate deficiency reviews, occupancy inspections, and close-out documentation.Attend project meetings and contribute to progress discussions and issue resolution.Qualifications:3+ years of construction coordination or site management experience in low-rise or mid-rise residential or mixed-use developments.Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code (OBC), construction practices, and safety standards.Experience coordinating with multiple sub-trades and consultants.Familiar with construction scheduling software and MS Office Suite.Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation.Certification or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.Working knowledge of Procore, Buildertrend, or similar construction management platforms.Valid certifications in WHMIS, Working at Heights, and First Aid.Previous experience working on Tarion-regulated residential developments is an asset.Work Conditions:Primarily site-based; must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional extended hours as project needs dictate.If you are looking for a new opportunity to join a growing, fast paced, exciting company this could be your next career move!
