This full-time, long-term contract role focuses on cost estimation and change management for large-scale infrastructure projects including transit-related construction, building systems, and utilities.Key Responsibilities:Prepare various types of cost estimates: conceptual, feasibility, budget, control, change orders, claims, and value engineeringPerform detailed quantity take-offs for all major disciplines: architectural, civil, mechanical, and electricalAnalyze contractor and supplier quotes for proposed changes and claimsCollaborate with internal engineering and commercial teams, as well as external consultantsReview and prepare documentation such as payment breakdowns, pricing schedules, and basis of estimate reportsMaintain estimate files and work records in accordance with established proceduresSupport project execution by validating scope, cost impacts, and construction changesQualifications:Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline (e.g., Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying), or equivalent work experienceProven 5+ years experience preparing cost estimates on complex construction projects (preferably in the public or infrastructure sector)Strong understanding of the Ontario Construction Act, relevant building codes, and union/trade agreementsAbility to independently perform quantity take-offs from technical drawings and specificationsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating software/toolsExperience working with change order pricing, claims support, and procurement teamsWork Schedule & Conditions:35 hours per week, Monday to FridayRole is primarily onsite, with up to 3 days/week remote work allowed after initial training and subject to approval.All remote work must be performed within the province of Ontario.How to Apply:Please submit your resume (maximum 3 pages) clearly outlining your relevant experience and qualifications.
