Job Description Network and sources all available sources of hardwood logs/timber to achieve procurement goals. Cruise and appraise logs/standing timber for quantity, quality, and value through on-site visit. Analyze and calculate the cost of goods (raw material costs, operational cost, and overall cost control), and project profits to meet defined pricing levels. Negotiate timber/logs sales aggressively while building strong relationships with sawmills, loggers, forestry consultants, etc. Procure hardwood timber/logs in compliance with Canadian and US related regulations. Inspect, scale, grade, and sort log when needed. Monitor suppliers performance versus targets, costs, and quality; implement corrective action as needed. Develops, cultivates, and maintains long-term relationships with wood industry suppliers to ensure adequate logs supply, and mitigate supply interruptions created by seasonal weather challenges. Provide market information, technical information to sales team from product sourcing to delivery. Review and process claims against suppliers when required. Coordinate with logistic and sales team on the products transpotation.Qualifications Sales experience in any industry is prefered, particularly flooring or any wood related industry. Strong negotiating skills (i.e., analytical, quick-thinking, and innovative). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment. Initiative-taker, detail and results oriented. Strong research and mathematical skills. Must have a valid class G driver license, and US or Canadian passport preferred. Less than 25% travelling requried. Computer skills required include knowledge of Outlook, Word & Excel. Supply chain knowledge or experience prefered.
