The company is a successful, well-financed, progressive organization that is regarded as one of the best companies in the paper industry.ANC is currently recruiting for the role of Instrument Technician (Journeyman Instrument Mechanic) / Technologist in the Electrical & Instrumentation Department. Reporting to the E&I Coordinator, this role allows an individual to work as part of a team on a Monday to Thursday (10-hour day) schedule. It is expected that this role be available for call-ins and overtime, as required.RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESMaintain instrumentation including valves, transmitters, analyzers and other analytical equipment Maintain and develop DCS/PLC process control systemsPerform, develop and update PM requirements for process plant equipmentParticipate in shutdown planning and scheduling activities as requiredParticipate in RCM investigations of equipment failures and reliability issues and follow-up of corrective actionsUpdate and create equipment documents and job proceduresBe committed to our values of respect, trust, integrity, team work and innovationOther duties, as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work independently while contributing to a self-managing teamExperience in process control design and troubleshootingDemonstrated maintenance best practices for equipment care Experience in DCS/PLC programmingExperience with projectsMust have a safety-focused mindset and strong knowledge of safe work practices.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSProvincial trade certificate as an Instrument Mechanic JourneymanA minimum of 3 years of industrial journeyman maintenance experienceMinimum Grade 12 or equivalentA valid driver's licensePreference will be given to:Candidates with a diploma in Process Control or an Instrument TechnologistDual ticketed journeyman in Electrical and InstrumentationCandidates with working experience of ABB Infi90, 80 experiencePulp and Paper maintenance experienceYou must be located in or willing to relocate to Whitecourt, AB if chosen as the successful applicant.Alberta Newsprint Company will only consider those eligible to work in Canada either by citizenship, permanent residency, or valid Canadian work permit.
