Brightshores Health System operates six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region serving a population of over 170,000. The Owen Sound hospital is a Level 2 regional referral centre with a Level 3 ICU, offering a full range of specialty services through various departments including Anaesthesia, Diagnostic Imaging, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, and Surgery (ENT, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology). Thriving rural hospitals are also located in Lions Head, Markdale, Meaford, Southampton, and Wiarton, servicing a range of ambulatory, in-patient, and emergency needs. Practice Opportunity : The Department of Hospital Medicine is looking to expand its team of Full-time & Part-time permanent Hospitalists . Locum opportunities are also available. Our physicians provide coverage to both our Hospitalist and Rehabilitation Units at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound site. Service Delivery : Four (4) Acute Hospitalists cover medical admissions/discharges, daily care, and on-call service on a weekly rotation. Two (2) Hospitalists are scheduled each weekend, with rotating on-call dates. Hospitalists care for approximately 14 to 18 patients each and are scheduled for 1 weeknight on-call per week. Qualifications : Interested candidates must hold CFPC or RCPSC designation and possess an independent license to practice in Ontario. Compensation Model : Blended model including stipends for weekdays, fees for after-hours/weekend service, and on-call stipends. Remuneration increases with the number of service weeks provided annually. Interim locum weeks are available, with travel and accommodation support.
