Psychiatrist - Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) Join to apply for the Psychiatrist - Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) role at Shared Health-Soins Communs . Job Description Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9), and the Department of Psychiatry are seeking a Psychiatrist to address our labour shortage in Manitoba. Responsibilities Provide psychiatric and medical assessments, treatment, and management of program participants within your scope of expertise or coordinate with appropriate services when out of scope. Participate in planning and coordinating comprehensive team services for program participants. Assess new referrals and facilitate intake of accepted participants to FACT. Provide psychiatric support to the HUB on a consult basis as needed. Assist in determining which FACT clients may require time-limited ACT supports. Monitor the FACT Board to identify clients needing regular FACT services versus time-limited ACT supports. Support and facilitate participant discharge from FACT when appropriate. Supervise, educate, and train other staff members. Develop, maintain, and oversee medication and psychiatric treatment policies and procedures. Review, follow-up, and order blood work in collaboration with the Team Lead/Nursing for assigned participants. Arrange hospital admissions when required and liaise with hospital staff during inpatient stays. Contribute to developing and implementing recovery plans, providing leadership in all aspects of participant recovery and community living. Participate in team management and development of working relationships with other health services and government agencies. Supervise residents and medical students on rotation or community exposure. Engage in evaluative research and supervise psychiatric residents and students. Participate in an on-call rota and attend staff meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications The candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Psychiatry, be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Experience Experience treating individuals with severe and enduring mental illness. Training in psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery models. Supervisory experience in a clinical setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with severe mental illnesses, addictions, and intellectual disabilities. Research interests or knowledge in severe mental illness preferred. Compensation Salary as per Doctors Manitoba agreement. Recruitment incentives may be available for specialty physicians.
