Key Responsibilities Lead all day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. Oversee inventory control, purchase order systems, and cost of sales tracking to ensure accurate reporting and margin optimization. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with Canadian accounting standards. Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports. Support and train staff in the use of proprietary accounting and POS systems. Collaborate with operations and ownership to streamline processes, improve internal controls, and enhance financial visibility. Liaise with external auditors, vendors, and internal stakeholders for reporting, approvals, and compliance matters. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Promote business process automation and help implement effective financial policies and procedures. Qualifications & Education 5+ years of progressive finance experience in hospitality (hotel and/or restaurant); retail or manufacturing experience also considered. Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting; CPA designation preferred but not required. Experience managing inventory, cost controls, and finance systems. Familiarity with ERP or hospitality-specific financial systems (e.g., MS Dynamics 360 F&O, POS platforms). Comfortable in a small, tactical team environment with a hands-on leadership style. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset. Proven ability to mentor staff and foster accountability and responsibility.
