Base pay range CA$18.36/hr - CA$23.00/hr We are looking for a Scooper to join our Ice Cream Counter and help customers find what they are looking for while shopping in the store. Scoopers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about our product while ensuring every customer walking through our door has an exceptional experience! Scoopers are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and presentability of our ice cream counter during slow times, as well as lending a helping hand when asked by a manager. They will also deliver a high level of customer service to shoppers. Ultimately, you will work directly with customers and complete various tasks around the store to keep the shopping area clean and organized throughout the day. Duties/Responsibilities Serving with exceptional customer service is you #1 priority Ensure the store is clean, safe and ready for shoppers Restock ice cream and other items when we are running low Process cash register payments by cash, credit card, gift card, and debit Balance and reconcile cash at end of work shift Maintaining and building various ice cream counter displays Help load-in ice cream when deliveries arrive Keep shelves fully stocked with fresh products Backroom and inventory management Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about our products Clean and restock the work and dining areas, empty garbage and recycling bins, and sanitize equipment and utensils Support other store departments with tasks such as rotating product, stocking items, cleaning and maintaining the stores appearance Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins; Popping our signature Stongs Market popcorn Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods Performs other related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Proven customer service or retail experience is a plus Great attention to detail Good communication and people skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time Able to lift up to 30 pounds at times About Us Stongs Market is a locally owned, community focused grocery store.
