Join the Department of Cardiology on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada! There are several opportunities to join as a general cardiologist or as a cardiologist with cardiac device implanting specialty. Cardiologist with Cardiac Device Implanting Specialty (200-0979) There is an opportunity for a full-time cardiologist with cardiac device implant specialty training to join a dedicated team of cardiac internists and intensivists at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital to establish a Heart Health Division. This team will be part of a well-established 20-member Division of Cardiology in Victoria. Eligible applicants must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in cardiology and demonstrate competency in all aspects of cardiology. The successful candidate will have obligations including coverage of both coronary care unit and cardiology wards. On call responsibilities are for cardiology on call coverage only. Responsibilities include device implantation and clinical oversight/management of patients in the local Pacemaker Clinic. If required, there is additional training to develop device management expertise that is available through the affiliated electrophysiology and device management group at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. Cardiologist (200-0955) There are two full time opportunities for cardiologists to join existing cardiologists and a group of dedicated cardiac internists and intensivists at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital to establish a Heart Health Division. This team will be part of a well-established 20-member Division of Cardiology in Victoria. Eligible candidates must be skilled in acute cardiology providing consultation service for hospitalist and other specialty groups, echocardiography interpretation (requires Canadian level 2 training or higher with currency), Holter and ECG reading, supervising nuclear perfusion imaging, performing pericardiocentesis, DC Cardioversions and rapid cardiac assessment clinics. Outpatient follow-up of patients through a private office, along with routine administrative duties, and participation in cardiology division and other relevant meetings, are expectations of this position. The call schedule for this position is 1:5-1:6. Cardiologist (100-1987) There are two opportunities for general cardiologists to join a dedicated Cardiovascular Disease, to establish a Heart Health Division in Victoria. This team will be part of a well-established 20-member Division of Cardiology in Victoria. Eligible applicants must hold certification by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Cardiology. Experience in Womens health, adult congenital heart disease, cardio-oncology or cardiac rehabilitation would be an advantage.
