We are currently recruiting for our client based out of Edmonton for a contract role in planning/scheduling:Duration: 12 monthsLocation: Edmonton, ABRole: Participates in establishing initial construction plan by implementing templates and facilitating interactive planning sessions with key construction team members.Prepares drafts of network logic diagrams for segments or the construction phase as applicable.Performs forward and backward pass assessments during the preparation of the construction phase schedule and provides critical path analysis highlighting pertinent start and finish dates of milestones and activities.Compiles, organizes construction planning information and prepares the related construction schedule versions with different levels of detail and criteria including the weekly, bi-weekly look ahead and general construction schedule.Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out EVM tasks supporting in a timely and accurate manner the project controls and construction management efforts.Utilizes Primavera P6 as scheduling and reporting tool.Assists with the resource loading process of the applicable construction scopes.Reviews short-cycle schedule impacts and prepares CPM project schedule analysis.Collects, validates, and integrates schedule and earned value progress information from vendors and contractors.Conducts progress audits by routine project walkthroughs.Prepares different tabular and graphical construction schedule timeline and resources reports as required.Assists in developing alternatives to accommodate changes and priorities.Attends construction meetings and participates by providing the applicable reports.Facilitates meetings with key construction project team members, vendors, and contractors to address and update the construction schedule status and forecast.Assists the home office staff with the coordination, monitoring, reporting and oversight of the field activities.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.5+ years of experience working as Planning/Scheduling Engineer in EPC projects in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, industrial gases industries. 10+ years of experience may be accepted in lieu of bachelors degree.Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software.Proven experience in the application of project management principles and techniques, including schedule development, resource management and earned value management.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
