About the ClientOur client is looking for a Finance Manager for a 12-month contract.About the OpportunityGeneral Accounting & Financial Oversight:Supervise account reconciliation activities across all general ledger accounts, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding itemsApprove reconciliations and journal entries prepared by junior accounting team membersSupport monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including the preparation and review of journal entries, schedules, and reportsProduce full financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and support in delivering financial analysisIdentify and address financial or operational discrepancies as they ariseAudit, Compliance & Reporting:Act as the main point of contact for audit-related requests and ensure accurate and timely documentationPrepare and file indirect tax returns (e.g., sales tax) and other statutory filings in line with regulatory deadlinesReview contracts and ensure they meet the financial compliance standards of the organizationReceivables Management:Lead the month-end receivables process, including bad debt analysis, aging reports, and necessary adjustmentsApprove refund transactions and service request workflows in designated platformsRespond to inquiries related to receivables from internal teams and external partnersProcess Improvement & Team Leadership:Participate in cross-functional initiatives and systems projects, providing financial input during testing and rolloutLead and mentor accounting staff, ensuring a collaborative and productive work environmentDrive process enhancements and efficiencies within accounting and reporting workflowsAbout YouPost-secondary education in Accounting or Finance; professional designation (e.g., CPA) is required35 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing or mentoring othersStrong understanding of private-sector accounting frameworks (e.g., ASPE); familiarity with non-profit standards is beneficialAdvanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365; knowledge of tools like Power BI and VBA is considered an assetHands-on experience with enterprise accounting systems; involvement in system upgrades or implementations is a plusHigh attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionallyDiscretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive or confidential informationClick the Apply Now button and follow the instructions to submit your resume.
