The Opportunity: The Laundry Aide performs various laundry duties associated with providing residents with the required laundry service. The Laundry Aide assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members. What Is In It For You: * Sorts and separates items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements. * Operates automatic washing machines, dryers, irons and sewing machine. * Hand irons and folds/hangs garments after laundering. * Performs simple mending and repairs. * Transports laundered garments to appropriate floors. * Ensures proper identification of all personal clothing. * Maintains a clean work environment, dusting and washing equipment and shelves as required. * Maintains appropriate level of supplies (e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener and thread). * Cleans work area upon completion of shift. What You Will Need: * Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred. * Must understand the basics of good laundry techniques/practices. * A minimum of public-school education is required.
