Ronscos services are complimented by a growing catalogue of more than 7,000 components, tools and supplies, distributed from our warehouses across North America.* We are seeking a skilled Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating industrial machines and possess expertise in utilizing various measuring tools, particularly micrometers. The Lathe Operator will be responsible for performing precision machining of train axles according to specified tolerances and quality standards. **Responsibilities:** * Operate and maintain industrial lathe machines to produce high-quality finished parts. * Perform machining operations on metal components to achieve required dimensions, surface finish, and tolerances. * Monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize production and maintain quality standards. * Inspect finished products using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments to ensure conformance to specifications. * Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines at all times. * Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and suggest improvements in the grinding process. **Qualifications:** * High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in machining is preferred. * Proven experience operating lathe machines in a manufacturing environment. * Proficiency in using measuring tools, specifically micrometers, for accurate dimensional inspection. * Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. * Excellent attention to detail, precision, and quality craftsmanship. * Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. * Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment. **Compensation & Benefits:** * Schedule: Shift work (currently two shift operation - days 7am-3pm and afternoons 3pm to 11pm rotating weekly), overtime and weekends as required. * Comprehensive group benefits package fully funded by Ronsco, and retirement savings plan with matching * We offer on-the-job training that''s geared towards fostering long-term career growth within our stable industry * Competitive salary with overtime after 40 hrs worked. * $800 retention bonus (paid after probation, subject to all applicable deductions) *Candidates will be selected based on their qualifications and suitability for the position.
