Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual to be a key component of our growing Development department. The Model Maker will specialize in creating product models, prototypes, and innovative concepts. They will work with designers and detailers to create models that help our clients visualize and evaluate product concepts, test functionality, and assess ergonomics. Our Model Makers use materials like plastic, metal, wood, and 3D-printed components as well as tools, like lasers, CNC machines, and vacuum formers, to bring solutions to life. Media6/IMG is a well-established retail solutions provider with over 20 years of experience specializing in custom cabinetry, millwork and merchandising displays located in Mississauga. We design, develop, and produce retail solutions for global clients, working with multiple materials & processes. We believe in surpassing expectations and providing unparalleled customer service, which has allowed us the privilege to be aligned with top global brands & retailers. *Position: Model Maker* *Type: Full-Time Position Location:* *2550 Stanfield Rd, Mississauga ON L4Y 1S2* **Essential Duties & Responsibilities:** * Create product models & prototypes from technical drawings * Problem solving for design and Design for Manufacturing solutions * Assemble, finish, and inspect parts and finished products for presentation or pre-production purposes * Operate machinery, equipment, and hand tools to cut, shape, form, and fit materials to create parts and assemblies * Use 2D & 3D computer software to edit, develop or update part drawings * May train or assist in training colleagues **Qualifications:** * Experience fabricating multiple materials -- 3 to 5 years of experience, knowledge with Merchandising displays a bonus * Proficient in the use of various 2D & 3D software - SolidWorks, machining software -- Adobe Suite/AutoCad - nice to have * Knowledge of materials & processes - plastics, metal/wood, decoration, vacuum forming, print etc. * Impeccable organizational skills - ability to work effectively independently and manage tight deadlines * Excellent communication - both verbal and written * Adaptable - Ability to find creative solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, and adjust approach as required * Team player - Collaborate with development, production teams and external partners.
