**Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN** Term: Contract Salary: +/- $28 per hour Location: Calgary Email to apply **SCOPE** Acumen Health is an exciting and growing Private Orthopedic Surgery Clinic and Reconditioning Centre. Reporting to the Surgical Manager, this position is to support patients in their journey during post-operative care and prepare them for independence when returning home. **DUTIES** * **3 to 6 shifts per month running from 9AM to 9PM or 9PM to 9AM (times may vary according to available staffing). These shifts are scheduled in advance.** * **Overnight post-operative care of 1 to 5 total joint replacement patients (ASA 1 or 2) in an off-site location. All patients will have a companion present.** * **Educating patients on surgery performed and expectation is important in a private setting** * Ensure office policies and procedures are followed * Maintain patients file throughout their journey * Take vitals and educate regarding medication * Communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary team **QUALITIES** * Always have a professional and courteous disposition with patient and team members * Have great communication skills * Organizational skills are necessary to manage a large amount of detailed information * Be able to work individually and part of a team * The ability to be flexible in the schedule is a huge benefit to our organization * Fast learner and wanting to learn more will be a great fit within our team * Minimum 2 years experience preferred as part of a medical team * Willingness to learn, time and change management skills * Great phone etiquette * Knowledgeable in post-op care for total joint replacement patients Job Type: Casual Pay: $28.00 per hour Schedule: * Day shift * Monday to Friday * Night shift Experience: * Nursing: 2 years (required) Work Location: In person
