**Job Details:** **Role: Linux System Engineer** **Locations: Dallas, TX & Toronto, ON (Hybrid)** **Experience: 7+ Years** **About the Role:** We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Linux System Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Linux administration, strong scripting skills, and a commitment to maintaining secure and efficient systems. This role requires flexibility, as it involves weekend and evening hours. **Key Responsibilities:** * Design, develop, and maintain shell and Perl scripts to automate system tasks, streamline operations, and ensure system efficiency. * Configure and manage Connect Agent scripts to facilitate seamless system interactions and data flow. * Oversee and manage secure file transfer processes, including extensive experience with FTP protocols and other secure transfer methods. * Administer and troubleshoot network configurations, including firewall rules (e.g., related to TCP/IP and potential interactions with Windows NT environments or similar network protocols for system connectivity). * Perform routine system administration tasks, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning. * Monitor system health, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure projects. * Provide technical support and expertise for complex Linux-based systems. **Required Qualifications:** * Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux System Engineer or Administrator. * Expertise in bash, shell, and Perl scripting for automation and system management. * Profound understanding and practical experience with FTP protocols and other file transfer methodologies. * Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and firewall concepts. * Experience with system monitoring tools and incident management. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
