The **School of Health and Public Safety** at SAIT prepares students for a dynamic career in the health care sector. Our programs are hands on, with students and instructors immersed in living classrooms and simulated training. **The Opportunity** The Clinical Support Services portfolio within the School of Health & Public Safety has a need for an energetic and resourceful individual with great organizational skills to provide clinical instruction in a theory and laboratory setting in the Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (MDRT) Program for Full Time and Part Time students. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader. * **Please note this is a temporary salaried position eligible for benefits** ### **The Role** * + Facilitate and supervise student learning in class, laboratory, and practicum settings + Keep course materials and teaching resources up-to-date + Provide ongoing guidance and feedback to students to support their progress and achievement + Ensure a safe and positive learning environment + Maintain records for grading and attendance + Prepare lab preps and supply lists for Educational Technologists + Assess and track student progress and retention + Adhere to SAITs safety policies and procedures + Participate in program meetings and institutional activities + Engage in course development, program reviews, and quality assurance + Conduct scholarly activities and applied research + Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to enhance teaching and support student success + Build and maintain industry relationships + Participate in administrative activities and mentorship + Shape the future of learning through experience and passion + Promote and support SAITs and Health and Public Safetys goals and mission statements + Negotiate, arrange and manage practicum placements across Canada, maintaining relationships with practicum partners and creating new ones + Maintain currency in the profession and pursue faculty development ### **Qualifications & Experience** * + Must have completed post-secondary in MDRT, with a minimum of two years work experience as a certified MDRT + HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Professional Association) certification is required + CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certification would be an asset + Continuing education or professional development in adult education is preferred + Two years experience in education, teaching, or preceptor would be considered an asset + Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered **Job classification:** INSTRUCTOR - S4001 **Salary range:** $77,427 - $103,320 **Position End Date:** December 31, 2025 **Posting closing date:** June 9, 2025 **About SAIT** SAIT is a global leader in applied education.
