Don''t miss out on the opportunity to work alongside the world''s best in paediatric healthcare. **Position Description** ------------------------ We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our *Critical Care Unit''s Neurocritical Care Program* In this role, you will join our exciting Neurocritical Care Program- Team Brain! This innovative program ensure comprehensive support for children recovering from critical illness. Our Mission is to: 1) Assess and Improve Outcomes: We focus on evaluating and enhancing the physical, mental, and cognitive health of children post-critical illness;2) Prevent Secondary Brain Injury: Our team is dedicated to protecting vulnerable brains in critically unwell or injured children and their journey through critical care; 3) Collaborate and Integrate Services: We support the seamless integration of neuro-critical care services across SickKids and its partner organizations, benefiting patients and their families. A Better World. **Here''s what you''ll get to do:** * Integrate nursing and medical skills and knowledge within a broad scope of advanced nursing practice. This role will have a focus on the acute management of paediatric patients with neurologic and neurosurgical illnesses requiring intensive care. * Bridge between the Neurology and CCU teams to provide neurologic care to patients within the CCU (involving seizure management, treatment of brain injury and a variety of neurologic diseases, interpretation of neurologic investigations, communication with families) * Assume a leadership role in program development and influencing clinical nursing practice. Integrates research into practice. * Create, utilize and/or disseminate new knowledge through research and/or quality improvement initiatives. * Identify and link to services and resources in community to support ongoing medical and mental health care of the patient and family. **Here''s what you''ll need:** * Master of Nursing or equivalent with a clinical focus. * Completion of a Paediatric Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent. * Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario within the RN - Extended Class * 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in paediatrics. Experience in critical care medicine would be a strong asset. * Proven ability to be visionary and provide leadership, act as a change agent, and foster teamwork and consensus. * Demonstrated ability to be an innovative critical thinker with excellent communication, public speaking and problem-solving skills. * Knowledge of theoretical frameworks and research application. * A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion **Here''s what you''ll love** * This position is eligible for employee benefits coverage including but not limited to; health, dental and life insurance.
