We like to have fun and celebrate our success. **Position Overview** A Handyman/ Carpenter is responsible for helping those who have been affected by fire or flood damage by rebuilding and restoring areas of homes back to their original state. Our reconstruction team is looking for individuals who are skilled in or looking to apprentice or cross train in any of the following: drywall, painting, ceiling texture & installation or carpentry. We hire employees that are new to the trades and train them in to be valuable and versatile employees that can perform a wide array of tasks. As employees develop, we offer them further training so they are continuously developing in the below areas. *Carpentry* * Install kitchens, bathrooms and exterior sub-floors and framing * Rough/finished and trim carpentry * Complete chair rail and wainscoting installation * Apply veneer panels and moldings including crown molding * Install vanities * Build stairs * Mortise door hinges * Drill for locksets * Install windows and exterior doors * Frame columns and beams * Frame with steel studs * Frame wood walls and bulkheads *Drywall* * Assist with hanging install, taping, sanding, mudding drywall and paint * Minor repairs (patch, ready to paint, texture) * Cut and install drywall * Install corner bead * Denshield drywall application * Texture blend * Tape, coat, skim, sand to prepare for paint *Paint* * Caulk, fill base and trim * Brush and spray base and casing * Assist with spray *Health and Safety* * Ensure that self and others adhere to Canstars health and safety practices and procedures * Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently * Understand safety policies and protocols * Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required **Who we are looking for:** A personable and well-organized individual who pays attention to detail and has excellent data entry skills. Someone who has a professional manner and is able to interact with employers and vendors daily. Experienced in working in a fast- paced environment. Other important attributes of a future Carpenter are: * Minimum 3 -5 years of experience as a Handyman/ Carpenter with drywall and painting experience * The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50 pounds safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift * A drivers license and personal truck/cargo van/minivan or vehicle large enough to transport 4x8 sheets of drywall and to attend jobsites is a must (generous monthly vehicle allowance is provided) * An eagerness to bulk your paycheck with overtime hours as we are a 24/7 emergency services company, and all positions will have a component of on-call work on a rotational basis * A great attitude and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers * The ability to wear personal protective equipment to keep you safe on site, including a respirator. * We enter peoples homes, so a clean criminal record as it relates to work and a drivers abstract with only minor infractions is required **Perks of working for Lydale Restoration** * Competitive compensation * Extended health and dental benefits for you and your family * Great company culture and career advancement opportunities * Industry-related Tuition Reimbursement (50% - 100% of tuition costs!)
