**Job Description:** A Solar Panel Installer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar panel systems on residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Their work helps reduce reliance on fossil fuels by providing clean, renewable energy sources. **Key Responsibilities:** * Measure and assess installation sites. * Mount and secure solar panels on rooftops or ground structures. * Connect panels to the electrical system (may work with electricians). * Test and troubleshoot system performance. * Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes. * Read blueprints and schematics. **Skills & Qualifications:** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Experience in construction, roofing, or electrical work is often preferred. * Comfortable working at heights and with power tools. * Knowledge of PV systems and components (inverters, batteries, etc.). * Strong attention to detail and safety practices. **Certifications (optional but valuable):** * Worker Health & Safety Awareness in 4 steps * Elevated work platform training for any worker using lifts * Fall protection or Working at Heights training * WHMIS and First Aid (in Canada) a**verage Salary (Canada):** * Entry-level: **$20$25/hour** * Experienced: **$30$40/hour** * May vary by province and company **Career Growth:** * Lead Installer / Site Supervisor * Solar Project Manager * PV System Designer * Renewable Energy Technician Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $17.75-$34.31 per hour Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday * Morning shift * Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
