This is a permanent role and is primarily in office in West Toronto. About the Role: Reporting to the VP of Corporate Services, the Director of Finance will lead the finance team and oversee all aspects of financial strategy, planning, and reporting. This position plays a vital role in ensuring operational efficiency, financial compliance, and informed decision-making at the leadership level. Key Responsibilities: Lead daily operations of the finance department and manage staff performance Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational goals Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Manage budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes Monitor financial performance, identify risks/opportunities, and provide recommendations Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions Manage external and internal audits Maintain banking relationships and cash flow management Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls Mentor and support finance staff in professional growth Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field CPA designation or equivalent preferred Minimum 5 years of progressive finance experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role within the non-profit or public sector Strong knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning Familiarity with GP Dynamics required Skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines Knowledge of primary health care or mental health sectors considered an asset Seniority level Seniority level Director Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Accounting/Auditing Industries Hospitals and Health Care Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Altis Recruitment by 2x Get notified about new Financial Director jobs in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada .
