Call Schedule Description: Paid per the Specialist Emergency Coverage Program: Program Details The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a team-oriented psychiatrist to provide generalized psychiatry services in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and surrounding areas. The position offers opportunities to work across broad areas of psychiatry, from children and adolescents to the senior population. The psychiatrist will be part of a multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, psychologists, and addiction counselors. Leadership within the team and collaboration with external bodies are expected. Responsibilities include providing outpatient clinics, inpatient services, emergency coverage on a rotational basis, and traveling to satellite clinics at least once a week. The role involves integrated mental health and addiction services, encompassing both inpatient and outpatient care. This position remains open until filled and may be filled prior to the posted closing date. Relocation Package The successful candidate may be eligible for: The SMA Retention Fund, offering $7,000 - $14,000 annually for extended practice in the province An acceptable criminal record check with vulnerable sector search Experience providing generalist psychiatry within a catchment model Evidence of multidisciplinary care/management approach Knowledge of Saskatchewan laws regarding mental health commitment and release (asset) Preference for Canadian citizens and permanent residents, in accordance with immigration requirements The Yorkton Mental Health Centre features a 10-bed inpatient unit, extensive community services including Child and Youth, Adult, and Addiction Services, long-term rehabilitation, residential and supportive living programs, and transitional homes.
