Were looking for a Senior Project Engineer - Transportation to join our growing Canadian Operations. To be successful, you must have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering, design, and coordination on large-scale projects including highways, roads, transit, and multi-modal infrastructure (LRT / BRT). The Senior Project Engineer will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, regional team leads across Ontario, Canada, North America, and GHDs global network. Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers diverse opportunities and responsibilities such as: Leading transportation engineering design for roadway, highway, and freeway projects, including multi-modal corridors like median LRT / BRT. Coordinating civil deliverables, drawings, and details from conception to final design in a 3D modelling environment such as Civil 3D, following established standards. Leading small teams of engineers and designers to drive design phases and ensure standards are met on complex projects. Mentoring and supervising junior staff, fostering a team approach. Reviewing and overseeing models and drawings, collaborating with engineers and designers to develop detailed documents and technical memos. Ensuring high-quality project deliverables through collaboration and communication with discipline leads and project team members. Maintaining contacts with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients. Overseeing report and contract document preparation for review agencies, clients, and the public. Working within various procurement environments such as Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build. Adhering to GHD BIM and Quality standards, and participating in the development of civil/transportation details and training. Responsibilities include: Designing engineering solutions and validating them to meet standards. Contributing to engineering standards, specifications, and evaluating their effectiveness. Delivering small to medium projects within established programs. Analyzing and improving manufacturing or material processes. Managing relationships with contract service providers. Defining and delivering products/services to meet customer needs. Working within knowledge management systems to achieve outcomes. Developing personal capabilities through ongoing education and certification. Performing inspections to evaluate quality and integrity of works. Identifying and addressing shortcomings in processes and procedures. Managing relationships with small clients and supporting senior colleagues with larger clients. What you will bring to the team: Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering. 10+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design and engineering. Ontario P.Eng designation (or eligible) is mandatory. Positive attitude, good communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven success in delivering transportation projects. Strong knowledge of road and highway design principles, standards (TAC, OPSS, MTO). Experience with 3D corridor modelling software such as Civil 3D or OpenRoads (preferred). Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects. Knowledge of BIM tools (e.g., ProjectWise, BIM 360) is preferred. Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines.
