The Provincial Palliative Care Program, part of Ontario Health''s Primary and Community Based Care Portfolio, collaborates with regional partners to implement strategic priorities for palliative care across Ontario. Established alongside the Ontario Palliative Care Network in 2016, the program develops clinical guidance, informs policy, supports health system planning and measurement, and fosters collaboration with clinical experts and stakeholders. The Specialist role supports project planning, research, and quality improvement activities, emphasizing equity, development of frameworks, and communication to advance provincial palliative care initiatives efficiently. Here Is What You Will Be Doing Applying an equity lens to develop materials and approaches. Implementing and advising on frameworks, methodologies, and standards. Collaborating with clinical experts and stakeholders to advance provincial priorities. Developing various products for internal and external communications, business reporting, and decision-making. Building and maintaining relationships within Ontario Health to achieve project goals. Supporting managers and clinical leadership in developing and maintaining work plans, ensuring timely completion of deliverables, and escalating project risks as needed. Education And Experience Here is what you will need to be successful Bachelors degree in Health Science, Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Health Informatics or related discipline, or equivalent education/experience. Masters Degree in one of the above disciplines is an asset. Minimum three years of overall working experience, with a minimum of two years recent experience working within the healthcare sector Experience with palliative care focused projects is an asset. Certification and/or knowledge/skills in change management, quality improvement, implementation science, knowledge translation is an asset Experience with community health organizations or long-term care homes is an asset. Knowledge And Skills A commitment to developing a coordinated and standardized approach for delivering palliative care services for all people in Ontario, regardless of their age or illness. An understanding of Ontarios health care system and key provincial priorities for palliative care and broader health system improvement, with knowledge about health care delivery and especially in primary care, homecare and long term care. Expertise in using data from qualitative and quantitative analyses and other sources to advance Quality Improvement including supporting completion of literature reviews, jurisdictional scans and other data gathering/collection activities Experience in analyzing, synthesizing and summarizing information into summaries, reports, briefs, business cases and other documents. Solid communication skills, both oral and written. Internally, communicate with colleagues throughout the organization to discuss information and problems related to program implementation. Externally, communicate directly with various stakeholders together with managers and/or director when required. Awareness and understanding of Quality Improvement and project management principles and approaches. Very good attention to detail with good organization and time management skills. Supports the advancement of equity, inclusion, and diversity across Ontario''s health care system. Supportive in engaging with First Nations, Indigenous, Metis and urban Indigenous people as they self-determine their own approach to palliative care.
