Job Description

We are partnering on a confidential search for a Director of Finance at a well-established, high-growth distributor of specialized instrumentation devices located in the West GTA. The business has scaled to nine-figure revenue, by both strong organic growth and a focused acquisition strategy. Backed by a respected private equity firm, the company is preparing for a potential transaction in the next few years making this a critical and high-impact hire. This newly created role reports directly to the CFO and oversees a capable, engaged team of 12 (including three Manager-level direct reports). The Director will take ownership of core financial operations and elevate reporting, modeling, and business partnership capabilities. The Director will lead all aspects of financial management for the firm, including: Management Reporting lead monthly and quarterly reporting, with analysis and recommendations, to the Leadership Team and PE owners including KPI development and reporting. External Reporting to support bank covenants, statutory reporting, etc. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic decisions and ongoing growth. Cash Management Cash flow, working capital optimization, currency risk management. Supervise credit, collections, vendor payments, payroll and benefits. Prepare calculations for bonus and commission programs and ensure alignment with employment agreements. Risk management activities including oversight and renewal of corporate insurance policies. Audit & Tax Serve as the key liaison for audit and tax, delivering clean and timely outcomes. Manage integration of recent acquisitions into financial systems as well as optimizing synergies with personnel tasks. Were seeking a CPA with strong experience in distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-based businesses. The right candidate will be hands-on with Excel and ERP systems, financially disciplined, and commercially aware. Experience with private equity reporting, M&A integration, or multi-entity operations is highly valuable.
