Reporting to the AVP, Wealth Management Valuation, you will be leading our segregated fund hedging operations, segregated funds projects, and annual basis review functions. What You Will Do Lead our Segregated Fund Hedging operations from a reporting and development perspective. This would include the existing GMWB Daily Hedging program and the development and implementation of reporting around potential new types of segregated fund hedging introduced at the company Actively participating in the ongoing monitoring/maintenance of the AXIS CAC Cloud application service Lead special projects for the Segregated Fund Valuation area, related to topics including but not limited to regulatory change, technology, and hedging Lead key Segregated Fund Valuation basis change and model refinement initiatives such as assumption reviews, or product changes Collaborate with various individuals across key business functions in order to execute operationally, monitor the programs effectiveness over time, and satisfy reporting requirements for hedging programs Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to an overall team of 3, with 2 direct reports What You Will Bring Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries Understanding of segregated fund hedging strategies or financial market derivatives 5+ years of relevant experience with expertise in pricing and/or valuation Strong knowledge of Moodys AXIS and/or other platforms for stochastic valuation Curious and inquisitive Get energized when you work in partnership with team members and many internal business areas, and you do this with your excellent interpersonal skills Highly proficient with Excel and easily learn new tools and applications Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interpret complex information for varied audiences including senior management in Corporate Actuarial, Capital Management, Canada CFO Bias to action with an ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and prioritize multiple tasks and shifting priorities Critical thinker who can problem-solve and make good decisions when working with incomplete information Able to understand and diagnose key drivers of results, and be able to investigate anomalies with minimal guidance Able to lead, engage, and motivate employees Project planning skills in forecasting resource requirements for key projects Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg. The base salary for this position is between $92,100 - $170,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
