Project Director Harbinger Network has partnered with a leading Construction and Project Management firm to find their new Project Director! Position Overview The company seeks an experienced Project Director to lead major infrastructure and building projects with values of $100 million or more. This role is responsible for strategic oversight, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects, requiring strong technical expertise, advanced financial acumen, and exceptional leadership. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability for the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects ($100 million+), from initiation through to close-out. Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including construction, design, engineering, project controls, and stakeholder relations. Set and communicate project vision and objectives; align internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. Oversee creation and management of project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation; authorize high-level financial commitments and approve significant change orders. Establish and enforce compliance with all contractual, safety, and regulatory requirements. Lead risk management initiatives, ensuring early identification and effective mitigation strategies for project risks. Mentor and develop project leaders, fostering a collaborative and high-performance workplace culture. Serve as the primary representative in client, consultant, contractor, and government engagements. Resolve critical project issues and support negotiations as needed. Drive the implementation of best practices in quality management, safety, and process improvement. Qualifications At least 15 years of progressive experience in construction management, including 5 years in a senior leadership or director role. Demonstrated record of delivering large, complex ICI (Institutional, Commercial, Industrial) projects valued at $100 million or greater. Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (Masters preferred). Strong background in contract management, project financials, and multi-stakeholder environments. Deep knowledge of civil, architectural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) disciplines. Proficiency with industry-standard project management tools and software (such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera). Exceptional executive-level communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Preferred Skills Professional certifications such as PMP, Gold Seal, or P.Eng. are assets. Proven commitment to process improvement and industry best practices. Experience with a diversity of project types including new construction, modernization, and/or large retrofits. Eligibility for security clearance considered an advantage.
