Medical Director Position Summary The Medical Director will lead and oversee all resident medical services at peopleCares Tillsonburg Long Term Care Home. This role involves working closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Executive Director, Director of Care, and the interprofessional team to ensure the highest standard of medical care, support quality improvement initiatives, and uphold compliance with Ministry of Long-Term Care regulations. The position will be under a service contract with peopleCare and offers an annual incentive for achieving quality and performance goals. Reports to: Executive Director Key Responsibilities Provide leadership in the delivery of resident medical care, overseeing and supporting Attending Physicians and Extended Class Nurses. Ensure weekly, in-person medical rounds by Attending Physicians and manage on-call and vacation coverage to maintain continuous medical care for residents. Develop and communicate medical care standards, protocols, and expectations to attending medical staff Lead quality improvement projects and engage in interdisciplinary meetings, promoting resident- centered care practices. Support ongoing education and training for clinical staff to enhance resident Actively participate in inspections and accreditation surveys, responding to clinical queries and ensuring regulatory compliance. Attend admission and annual care conferences and other relevant resident-focused meetings as Qualifications Medical practitioner licensed to practice in Ontario and a member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Experience as an Attending Physician in long-term care, with preference given to those with Medical Director experience. Completion of, or willingness to complete, the Medical Director credentialing course (OLTCC), and active membership with OLTCC Strong understanding of LTC regulatory standards, with experience in quality improvement and interdisciplinary team collaboration. Experience with PointClickCare (PCC), Minimum Data Set (MDS), and Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI).
