Job Description

The Receptionist and School Administrator is the first point of contact for students, staff, families, and visitors. The Receptionist will meet, greet and direct all arrivals in a warm, friendly, professional and efficient manner. They will manage the daily student attendance process and tracking, and report relevant information to the Principal. This position works in a procedural, collaborative manner with faculty, students, parents, and staff in keeping with the schools vision, philosophy, and strategic plan.Responsibilities: Provides professional, friendly help and direction to members of our schoolEnsures the reception area is always inviting and presentableSchedules appointments and manages calendars for Principal and VP OperationsAnswers main phone lines, actively monitors visitors to the school and verifies guest identificationActs as gatekeeper for the safety of community members upon entranceHelps to execute crisis management protocols during evacuations and drillsOversees the full attendance process in a timely mannerTracks student arrivals and departures during the school dayCommunicates with parents and Principal dailyPerforms routine administrative functions as required, such as correspondence preparation, scheduling, mailings, mail, and maintaining electronic filesOrders office and kitchen suppliesMaintains database and updates recordsActs as point person for guest teachersOrganizes busesAssists with planning events and school tripsAssists with light bookkeeping Requirements: Receptionist experience, ideally in an educational environmentOutstanding customer service focusExcellent interpersonal skills, both in person and over the telephoneProven ability to be vigilant with respect to security issuesExperience with Google Suite and Microsoft OfficeCompetence in the effective use of databasesAbility to prioritize and handle confidential informationStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to remain flexible
