Our customers have named our EQ Bank digital platform (eqbank.ca) one of the top banks in Canada on the Forbes World's Best Banks list since 2021.The Work The Project Manager II reporting to the Associate Director, Finance Portfolio Delivery is responsible for Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring, Controlling, and Closing projects in adherence with corporate and departmental policies, including Enterprise Change Management and Project Management methodology. This includes baselined scope, schedule, budget, resource needs, and other parameters set by the executive sponsor and delegate throughout the project life cycle.This position is responsible for managing Finance-led projects of medium to high complexity many of which will have material impacts on enterprise planning, reporting, and controls. The role will begin with the implementation of a new Budgeting and Forecasting tool (FP&A transformation) and may expand to include future initiatives across Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Finance Operations. Experience in the financial services industry, along with CPA and PMP certifications, is highly preferred.The Core Responsibilities!Manage multiple Finance-led projects of medium to high risk, length, and complexity across the full project life cycleLead cross-functional teams including FP&A, Accounting, Tech, and external vendors (e.g., Deloitte) to deliver business-critical initiativesAct as a Trusted Advisor who partners with Finance leadership to navigate delivery risks, surface decision points, and steer teams toward business valueSupport structured planning and delivery of financial systems, reporting automation, budgeting tools, and related initiativesCreate and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and integrated roadmaps with Finance and Technology stakeholdersEffectively manage financials and ensure disciplined cost tracking and reportingFacilitate workshops and working sessions with FP&A stakeholders to gather requirements, process map as-is and to-be, user story documentation, track decisions, and resolve blockersMaintain detailed project plans, RAID logs, financials, and change management documentationTrack and report on progress to senior stakeholders and ensure appropriate governance forums are maintainedSupport the Finance PMO by applying project delivery standards and continuously improving practices aligned with Finance transformation goalsCoordinate internal resources and testing plan, working with SMEs to develop testing scripts, defect tracking, resolution and testing status updatesManage vendor relationships and third-party deliverables (e.g., consultants engaged on the implementation and software providers)Ensure adherence to Enterprise Change Management (ECM) policy and PDLC standards Prepare steering committee materials, track key performance indicators, and support post-implementation assessmentsHelp develop and coordinate training plan across the organization including train the trainer materials for cross-functional teamsLet's Talk About You!57 years experience managing projects through full life cycle (PDLC/SDLC)Demonstrated experience in financial services or finance-related environments (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, accounting operations, financial systems)Proven experience delivering Finance transformation or enterprise financial tool implementationsCPA and PMP certifications strongly preferredPost-secondary education (business, finance, accounting, or related discipline)Prior experience as a Business Analyst, Change Analyst, or in Finance Operations a strong assetFamiliarity with budgeting and planning software (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Oracle, etc.)Experience with Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall project methodologiesComfortable leading projects with $500K$2MM budgets and multi-vendor environmentsStrong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across Finance and Technology teamsProficiency with MS Office, SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA; understanding of data flows, testing strategies, and project risk management toolsAbility to work independently and lead through ambiguity with a solution-focused mindsetWhat we offer (For full-time permanent roles) Competitive discretionary bonus Market leading RRSP match program
