Job Description

SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER - Toronto, ON High profile multi-unit residences, commercial interiors inspired with iconic luxury brands, and private residences are situated within some of the most prestigious neighbourhoods in Toronto, Rosedale, Forest Hill, Kleinburg, King City, Ottawa, and New York. Assist and report to Principal Designer for all project related work as assigned. Lead and execute projects from beginning to end. Overseeing and managing the design team on all aspects of the project, for both residential and multi-residential projects i.e schematic design through to contract administration, providing design deliverables for each stage and meeting project timelines. Conduct job site visits and meetings, ensure accuracy of all design details on site. Develop and support the design team with working drawings, 3D models and presentations. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit an asset. Review and coordinate consultants drawings. Able to manage multiple design projects simultaneously. Lead, collaborate and participate with the design team on all aspects of the design process, including concept development, drawings, sourcing, pricing, presentations, working drawing packages, finishes selections and schedules. Review work for quality control: accuracy, project details (drawings, specifications, notes, finishes, documentation, furnishing production). Manage day to day project documentation (meeting minutes, emails, schedules, design concept boards (hard or electronic). Manage day to day project coordination with all consultants, contractors, client representation, trades and suppliers on all project related issues. Keep the Principal updated on all projects and aspects of the design team. Provide excellent client customer service and proper vendor relations. Lead client meetings and presentations. Act as primary contact for clients and vendors. Collaborate with architects, builders, trades. Participate in consultant meetings. Mentor Junior and Intermediate staff and assist Senior staff in managing overall team to ensure quality of service and project progression. Chair and schedule weekly team meetings to address project related issues and assign tasks. Establish and set up project schedule timeline and monitor progress. Coordinate with all relevant departments (i.e. Accounting, Purchasing) on all project related issues. Project installation. Assist monitoring of all deficiencies after installation and ensure timely rectification and/ or refinement.
