Job Description

Buyer: Inventory and Material (Parts and Supply)Responsibilities: Communicate with sales and warehouse personnel to determine incoming material requirementsRequisitions materials and establishes delivery dates, completes necessary documentation.Review and verify material orders submitted; enter purchase orders into the system.Monitors availability of materials; ensures materials are received on established dates; tracks materials and follows up on overdue purchase orders and materials.Manage the returns to the supplier or the restocking of materialMaximize cost and pricing efficiencies through active material sourcing and freight rate managementSource, negotiate, and purchase office supplies and maintenance items as required/requested.Monitor and redistribute slow-moving and/or overstocked materials; allocate to obsolete inventory status or return to the vendor; complete necessary documentation and adjust inventory as required/requested.Education and Qualifications: Minimum three (3) years of experience in an inventory control/purchasing environment, preferably with progressive levels of responsibility.Must have experience in plumbing, valves, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsSolid organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.High degree of accuracy with attention to detailComputer literate, good mathematical skillsCollege Diploma in Inventory/Supply Chain Management or a related disciplineA combination of education and experience
