With over 20 years of delivering cost-effective, innovative building solutions across Canada, the company operates from two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities totalling 200,000 sq. ft. of heated workspace. Projects span the educational, institutional, commercial, and residential sectors.Position SummaryThe Design Lead will bridge the gap between architectural design, off-site manufacturing, and construction execution. Youll oversee the design process from concept through to production, ensuring each project is innovative, technically sound, and factory-efficient.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Leadership & CoordinationLead design for modular residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.Guide multidisciplinary teams (architects, engineers, drafters, BIM specialists, PMs).Align design solutions with modular construction standards and manufacturing constraints.Review and approve design documentation across all project stages.Manufacturing IntegrationDevelop modular design standards supporting DfMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly).Translate concepts into scalable, modular-friendly components.Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are factory-ready.Construction InterfaceAddress site-specific adaptations and ensure smooth module installation.Resolve design/construction clashes in collaboration with the site team.Client & Stakeholder EngagementAttend client meetings, present design solutions, and manage stakeholder expectations.Communicate design intent through visuals, models, and technical documentation.Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with building codes, regulations, and sustainability targets.Promote BIM use for coordination, clash detection, and construction planning.QualificationsBachelors or Masters in Architecture, Industrial Design, Engineering, or related.7+ years of architectural/modular design experience (3+ years in leadership).Strong knowledge of modular/off-site construction and prefabrication techniques.Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows.Understanding of DfMA, LEAN, and construction sequencing.Preferred AssetsProfessional designation (Architect, P.Eng.) is an asset.Experience in vertically integrated design-build environments.Familiarity with LEED, Passive House, or Net Zero certification.Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving design environments.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (based on experience)Comprehensive health and benefits planRRSP matching programAnnual performance bonus
