Hestia maintains the culture of a family company with the distinct capability to deliver on quality and value, regardless of the size, location or complexity. **JOB SUMMARY** Hestia is looking for a skilled Carpenter who is hard working and experienced in large commercial construction projects. You will play a vital role in our projects, contributing your expertise to ensure the successful completion of various carpentry tasks. You will be working in a team environment, reporting to the Foreman and also be expected to perform independently. **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** * Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, troubleshoot any issues that occur * Install structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes and other materials in a commercial setting * Monitor and guide compliance with Hestia Safety programs and relevant safety legislation, ensure a safe working environment * Select and procure materials and tools needed for the carpentry work * Provide inspections and repair to any damaged structures * Complete and manage carpentry related paperwork, QC checklists, timesheets, safety documentation and material take offs. * Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project specifications are met * Provide guidance and mentorship to team members **QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS:** * High School Diploma or equivalent * Proven experience of a minimum of 3 - 5 years in commercial construction * Journeyman ticket in carpentry, any other additional certifications or training are an asset * Proficient at using all types of power tools and woodworking machines * Knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices * Excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills * Maintain a current driver''s license and own transportation * You will be required to provide your own PPE **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** * Ability to lift 50 lbs. maximum * Physical stamina to frequently lift/carry up to 20 lbs. * Work will involve pushing and pulling, climbing, bending and reaching * Must be able to work in all weather conditions Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 50 per week Benefits: * Company events * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * Paid time off * RRSP match * Vision care Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Ability to commute/relocate: * Calgary, AB T3H 4C4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) Experience: * carpentry: 3 years (preferred) Language: * English (preferred) Work Location: In person
