This hybrid Toronto-based role requires strong leadership, hands-on experience with automation frameworks, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet project goals. Key Responsibilities Automation Strategy & Execution: Define, develop, and implement test automation strategies and frameworks across applications. Create and maintain automation test plans and suites to support functional, regression, and performance testing. Select and integrate appropriate automation tools and technologies. Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Ensure alignment of QA deliverables with overall product timelines and quality objectives. Facilitate training and development in automation testing best practices. Collaboration & Quality Oversight Work closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to define quality requirements. Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Analyze test results, track defects, and manage quality metrics reporting. Process Improvement & Innovation Continuously improve QA processes, testing practices, and team workflows. Stay current with emerging trends in test automation, tools, and methodologies. Technical Expertise Required Skills & Qualifications: 5+ years of QA experience with a focus on automation testing. Proficiency in automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit. Strong understanding of scripting languages (Java, Python, or similar). Experience with CI/CD tools and integration into automated testing pipelines. Methodologies & Tools Solid grasp of SDLC and QA methodologies in Agile/Scrum environments. Familiarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar). Experience working in hybrid or cloud-based environments. Soft Skills Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving. Ability to effectively manage a team and work cross-functionally.
