The Banquet Server will serve guests needs by providing exceptional knowledge of the event menu as well as information regarding preparation methods. Banquet Servers also complete the proper and timely set-up, execution and clean-up of all banquet events. **The responsibilities of this position include:** * To serve all guests and respond to any inquiries according to Marriott Banquet standards. * To set and clear all tables and buffets according to menu requirements and Marriott Service Standards. * To set-up and serve and clear all coffee breaks according to Marriott standards. * To review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to the start of the function. * To replenish and maintain buffets when required. * To be familiar with all banquet food and beverage offerings. * To provide service to our guests in an efficient, friendly and professional manner. * To communicate all additional Event Planner requests to the Food and Beverage Managers. * To promote the use of all Hotel facilities and special promotions. * To handle guest concerns, compliments and suggestions in a professional informed manner, using the LEARN process. * To adhere to local liquor and health, safety and fire procedures and laws. * To make recommendations for improvement to either product or service in Banquets. * To respond to guest concerns and solicit guest feedback. * To participate in the daily pre and post-shift meetings. * Other duties as assigned by management. **What you''ll offer us:** We are looking for a dynamic, energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and fosters a culture of respect and positivity. * At least one year serving experience in food & beverage * Knowledge of local health and liquor laws (required) * Smart Serve Certification (required) * Ability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends * Bartending knowledge an asset * Previous experience in banquet service preferred * Ability to lift 50 lbs. *The Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.
