This role continues to be a champion of Bennett Design interior design project processes Discover, Plan, Implement, Monitor and Close, including Pure Design with the high level of detail and documentation that our firm is known for. This role is critical in developing other team members through training, coaching and providing ongoing learning opportunities.All Team Project WorkDesign and execute interior design projects varying in complexity from proposal through concept and development, construction phase and close outCoordinate Engineering groups (mechanical, electrical, communications and structural)Individual Project WorkSource finishes, equipment and requesting quotes from manufacturers and suppliersResponsible for preparing and issuing off renderings, initial and finalGenerate drawing packagesCoordinate with outside consultants, architects, engineers and trade partnersParticipate in client meetings and design presentationsContract ManagementAssist with assigning project work according to planPerform subcontractor coordinationComplete photo shootsManage construction schedules, deliverables and milestones as per contractAssist with additional service requests (ASRs)Assist with the preparation of all change notices and instructions, shop drawing reviews, deficient reviews and reportingDocumentation and Process Quality AssuranceReview design development, construction documents and shop drawings for content accuracy and overall design integrityMaintain compliance with Building CodeEnsure work is consistent with regulations, procedures, plans, drawings and specificationsPractice Risk Management as it relates to managing design projectsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONSPost-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Design from a recognized accredited College or UniversityNational Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ)Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) membership in good standingInterior Designers of Canada (IDC) membershipProficient in building code requirements, laws, standards and regulations as it relates to project work, with the ability to interpret and applyProficient in the interior design process from Discovery to Project Close Out phasesAdept in various products and materials and their use and application for project workProficient in building systemsFamiliar with project monitoring, budgeting and tenderingFamiliar with various types of engineering and how to coordinate effortsTravel Requirements: In this role you are required to occasionally travel to the client site for site visits, site measures, and deficiency walk-throughs.
