**Aircraft Structural Technician** **Job Description** Join a dynamic team working on an innovative aircraft conversion program, primarily focusing on the Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting. This role involves structural work, including repairing and maintaining tears and cracks in the structural body of the Q400, corrosion repair, riveting, and the overhaul of components. The position requires flexibility to work across different divisions and facilities. **Responsibilities** Perform basic structural repairs and maintenance on aircraft, focusing on Q400 conversion to aerial firefighting. Repair and maintain tears and cracks in the aircraft''''s structural body. Conduct corrosion repair and riveting tasks. Overhaul aircraft components as required. Work on assembly lines, assembling tanks, and performing repetitive tasks. Participate in airframe modifications, including major mods, tank installation, and provisions for fairings. Remove aircraft interiors and execute miscellaneous jobs as needed. Engage in weight reduction initiatives, particularly on wing modifications in the conversion department. Collaborate with a team, reporting to supervisors and team leads. **Essential Skills** Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance. Full-time positions are often filled from the contractor pool. **Work Environment** Work as part of a team of 27 people, collaborating with team leads and managers to ensure aircraft functionality. Bring basic tooling to facilitate work. The team consists of 13 members, and employment can range from a minimum of 3 months to over 10 years. The typical work shift is Monday to Friday, with 10-hour days starting at 6:00 AM and ending at 4:15 PM, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, focusing on achieving operational excellence in aircraft modifications. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbotsford, British Columbia.
