**Job Title: Material Handler** **Job Description** The Material Handler will initiate their shift with a pre-use inspection to ensure equipment safety, adhering to safe work requirements. Responsibilities include operating a side loader Combi or Hubtex Stand-up Forklift, using a counterbalance forklift or overhead crane, packaging orders, and moving materials with overhead cranes. The role also involves banding materials with steel or plastic binders, protecting materials with wood, plastic, or other materials, and shipping orders using internal systems. You will load trucks using overhead cranes and forklifts, manage paperwork, and work collaboratively with a team of around nine people. Additional duties include preparing packaging for the next day, general clean-up of workstations, and cross-training in saw cutting, shipping, and receiving. Safety is of utmost importance in this role. **Responsibilities** Conduct pre-use inspections to ensure equipment safety. Participate in cross-training for saw cutting, shipping, and receiving. **Essential Skills** 1-2 years of SDCB Forklift experience. General labor and production experience. Experience in shipping or packaging in an industrial environment. Ability to use an imperial tape measure. Material handling skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** Experience in steel industrial environments is an asset. Overhead crane experience (OHC) and inventory management skills.
