Job Description - Automotive Service Technician (Apprentice or Licensed) Location: Halifax , Nova Scotia Shift/Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday shifts as required Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience and qualifications Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time Position Overview: We are seeking a dependable and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join a high-performing, fast-paced shop environment. This role focuses on preparing vehicles for front-line dealership readiness-without the demands of full engine or transmission replacements. The shop is managed by a highly experienced Red Seal technician and offers steady workflow, a collaborative team, and a supportive workplace culture. This position is open to licensed technicians , apprentices with a minimum of 2nd block completed , or those with certified service station experience and an MVI license . Key Responsibilities: Conduct vehicle inspections, including pre- and post-sale assessments, frame checks, and test drives Perform general maintenance such as oil changes, fluid top-ups, tire services, and basic repairs Assist with more complex repairs including brakes, exhaust systems, alignments, ball joints, and A/C servicing Support overall shop operations by helping with vehicle movement, shop upkeep, and team collaboration (Optional) Provide customer support including sourcing parts, generating quotes, and completing work orders Requirements: Completion of at least 2nd block in the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program OR Certified Service Station Technician with a valid MVI license 1-3 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic vehicle systems Valid driver''s license and clean driver''s abstract Basic computer and smartphone proficiency Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work safely, independently, and as part of a team Work Conditions: Indoor shop environment Moderate physical demands: lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods High-volume workflow with steady repair and inspection duties #generallabour #J-18808-Ljbffr
