Lead Canada Licensing Specialist page is loaded Lead Canada Licensing Specialist Apply locations: Markham | Time type: Full time | Posted on: Posted 30+ Days Ago | Job requisition id: R5010846 Job Description Summary The Canada Senior Licensing Specialist, Regulatory Affairs, based in Canada, will complete various technical licensing work scopes in Canada, including new reactor licensing for the BWRX-300 Advanced Nuclear Project, operating fleet licensing support, customer plant support on GE Hitachi (GEH) / Global Nuclear Fuels (GNF) nuclear methods, and working with GEH / GNF Engineering and Regulatory Affairs teams on major projects in the areas of safety analysis. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: As the Lead Canada Licensing Specialist, Regulatory Affairs, you will perform the following for GEH reactors to be deployed in Canada: Participate under the direction of the Canadian Technical Leader, Regulatory Affairs, in tasks associated with the nuclear regulatory review process with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), focusing on safety analysis (probabilistic and deterministic). Support the preparation and submission of Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR), Pre-Operational Safety Analysis Report (POSAR), Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR), and other license application documentation for BWRX-300 licensing activities in accordance with CNSC regulatory requirements and guidelines, with input from the GEH BWRX-300 Project Team. Support the preparation and conduct of technical and licensing presentations to CNSC staff regarding BWRX-300 license applications, and coordinate responses to the customer or regulator in areas such as safety analysis and reactor core design. Required Qualifications: Bachelor''s Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 7 years of related professional experience OR Master''s Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear safety evaluations applicable to safety analysis at nuclear power plants, including familiarity with CNSC regulatory documents and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Standards. Minimum of 7 years of experience involving complex projects, providing regulatory guidance and feedback. Eligibility Requirements Work two days onsite a week at the GEH office in Markham, ON. Desired Characteristics : Seven or more years of experience with Canadian nuclear requirements and guidance, including on-site nuclear reactor experience. Management experience in Regulatory Affairs or large engineering projects. Nuclear engineering degree. Knowledge of boiling water reactor (BWR) systems, fuel, or operations, with experience with Advanced BWR (ABWR) or ESBWR licensing or engineering. Experience working with nuclear regulators, industry groups, and international licensing. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and technical documentation skills. Externally focused: promotes company''s reputation. Clear communication skills and decision-making ability. Ability to assess regulatory impacts on business. Strong business and financial acumen.
