The role / What are we looking for? KPMB is seeking an intermediate level Architectural Illustrator with a passion for architecture, photography/cinematography, and photorealistic image creation. This role involves working closely with our project leads to deliver high-quality renderings, illustrations and other visual assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and design capabilities leveraging 3ds Max, Corona Render, Adobe Photoshop, and Generative AI tools, with meticulous attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of the visualization process. This role requires a natural orientation towards collaboration and teamwork, but also the ability to work independently on deliverables. This position is best suited for an experienced Architectural Illustrator who strives for design excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring that KPMB''s high standards of visualization and technical execution are maintained across a variety of projects. Select key responsibilities: Technical Expertise + Execution: Translate design concepts into visual formats including diagrams, illustrations, photo-realistic renderings to effectively communicate design vision to internal and external project stakeholders. Produce photo-realistic renderings, architectural illustrations and comprehensive 3D models to effectively communicate proposed building designs and imagery to clients, planners, engineers, and contractors. Produce walkthrough videos and animations showcasing the flow and functionality of the built environment. Contribute to design discussions by formulating and presenting visualization decisions effectively. Preparing visual assets, including boards, presentations and or digital content to support client meetings or internal design reviews. Support project teams on the execution of internal and external renderings, offering both guidance on design technique and standards. Support the facilitation of internal knowledge share presentations and initiatives. Innovation and Sustainability: Stay current with industry trendsand emerging visualization software, technical innovations, and incorporating new ideas and tools across projects. Visually represent KPMBs commitment to sustainable, equitable, and accessible design. Participate in post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned in future projects. Lead an iterative design process, considering feedback and refining and continuously evolving the voice of KPMBs architectural illustrations. Candidate Profile + Qualifications: A Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Architectural Studies is an asset. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an architectural visualization role supporting drawings, illustrations and photorealistic renderings. Working proficiency in current versions of 3Ds Max, Corona Render, V-Ray, Adobe Creative Suite, Rail Clone, and Forest Pack. General knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Rhino is an asset. Ability to understand and formulate visualization decisions and present for discussion. Excellent attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently. Ability to prioritize and multi-task while managing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Salary: Compensation starts at an annualized base salary of $70,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. Transportation and bike storage: A daily free shuttle bus between Union Station and KPMBs office is provided for all staff who use the subway system or GO transit, from Monday to Thursday.
