Our client is seeking a Regulatory Manager - Food Science responsible for ensuring compliance with food labeling, packaging, and ingredient regulations, overseeing the Regulatory Program. The role involves managing compliance initiatives, labeling processes, and staying ahead of regulatory changes to mitigate risk and ensure product integrity. The ideal candidate combines food science expertise with deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks. Essential Functions Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on food safety regulations from agencies like the FDA, USDA, and others. Ensure organizational compliance and communicate findings to management. Labeling and Packaging Compliance: Oversee development and implementation of labeling strategies to meet regulatory requirements, ensuring accuracy of ingredient lists, nutritional info, allergens, and health claims. Regulatory Expertise: Provide guidance on product formulation, ingredient declaration, nutrition labeling, claims, allergen labeling, and compliance with country-specific regulations. Documentation Management: Create and provide necessary product documentation for customers. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to verify compliance through audits and inspections. Allergen Management: Develop allergen labeling programs to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper declaration. Government Affairs: Monitor legislative developments and implement relevant policies. Training and Education: Educate internal teams on food safety and compliance requirements. Audit and Inspection Preparation: Prepare for regulatory audits, conduct internal assessments, and coordinate responses. Education & Experience Bachelor''s degree in food science, technology, nutrition, regulatory affairs, or related; advanced certifications preferred. 5+ years in regulatory affairs within the food industry, with experience in safety regulations, labeling, and quality systems. Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, CFIA regulations, and label requirements. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. Leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Genesis Nutritional Database and Microsoft Office.
