Working with the interprofessional team, the Patient Service Partner participates in the caring of patients by providing a variety of support services to the team and patients. Participates as a member of the team in a manner that reflects the Hospital philosophy and mission of service and promotes and maintains good public relations with patients, visitors and Hospital staff. Patient Service Partner working in B5ICU will be required to assist with patient care; decontamination of patients care areas and equipment, and assist with ordering of supplies.Qualifications/Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated collaborative skills working in a team environmentMinimum Grade 11 or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of EducationApplicants who have a PSW Certificate or completed the Sunnybrook PSP (formerly PSA) course will be given priorityInfection Prevention and Control Certificate requiredAbility to speak, read and write EnglishPrevious experience in critical care or trauma preferredRecent PSP experience preferredMust be accustomed to high patient acuityProven ability to work under pressure and to handle various tasks within a limited time frameFlexibility and willingness to take directionMust have attended WHMIS trainingCPI training an assetMust be prepared and able to use all personal protective equipmentLiaises with patients and visitors on a regular basis demonstrating excellent customer service
